It REALLY was an honour to be in the team. I really enjoyed cheering everyone up. And what great shows you guys out on!
Huge thank you to Signe, Mogs and Julie for looking after me after you know what... Guys, you are SO patient!!!
My only regret is that Nagi and Richard weren't with us physically in the parade but that's what you get for having capable officials in your delegations: they're required for the big fights! ;)
Lizzie, when's the next fireworks? (We'll have to invite James S + Charlie, they seemed to appreciate our enthusiasm!...)
When's the next ? Which delegation are we visiting next? The (= Canadians (I was given a Canadian teddy to cheer me up)) or the (=Swedes)?
Have these guys been invited on the Savate universe?
Ooh, yes, me too! Completely brilliant weekend, I've been ranting about it all week. Thank you officials (particularly Valerie, for pulling me out of the parade to warm up!), thank you Rossy and James S and Charlie and everyone for cornering and warming up, thank you everyone for inspirational fighting and cheering, and thank you again Rossy for being an absolute bloody legend of a Chef de Delegation.
Go Team GB/ RU/ UK/ where ever in the alphabet we fitted in the end!
Another load of Thanks; To Rossy for his organisation and making sure we got the grub To Richard and Nagi for working full time both days and literally allowing us to be there... To Charlie for the glucose (it was glucose right?!) and help..
To everyone for yelling their lungs out
And to Ollie and Julie for getting the Cambridge crew there and back in one piece (all be it slightly rearranged), the cajoling; and the near breaking of the Swede's finger
Thanks to all our officials, to Charlie and Rossy for their cornering (and everyone else who jumped in to help), to Tom for his camerawork and general usefulness, and to all the fighters who put on a great show and screamed themselves silly.
Roll on the European Championships and the continuing, and ever escalating, success of Team GB...
Yes, as current President of the GBSF, I too would like to express my thanks to all Officials for their stirling work over the weekend.
I would also like to thank Ross for his efforts as Head of Delegation, and thank and congratulate both he and Charlie for their work in preparing our fighters (leading up to the event and at the event itself) and in warming them up and cornering them during the competition. I would also like to express a special thankyou to Tom for his help over the weekend - what with medical help and assistance, hang-over cures, and whatnot!
Congratulations also to all our fighters. You are all winners. The hardest part is stepping through the ropes and facing your opponent - even if it is only meant to be light/controlled contact!
I would like to take this chance to thank the French Federation for a great competition and to thank all GBSF team members for their individual input into making it such a pleasurable trip.
A special note of thanks to Richard Muggeridge, Nagi, Valerie and Neil King and Yves Ferre and all who worked so hard behind the scenes doing the officialising - a tough job done expertly and they never even got a "cheer" at the end of the event !
Also........well done to all our fighter's - great bouts and great results all round.
