RE: Glove colors

Go to www.savate.net and see the technical grades listed: Blue, Green, Red, White, Yellow, Silver. Don't be confused by competition grades.

Once someone reaches Red Glove technical level they can enrol on instructor training programme, in order to become an Initiateur (first level provisional instructor), and then a Moniteur (full instructor). Aide-Moniteur and Professeur is not used as much nowadays. In fact, in France, I think it's true that they have done away with Professeur altogether.

Hi,

We have made a big infographic with the belt colors from various martial arts: http://www.findhold.dk/12-kampsport-og-131-baelter-her-er-baeltefarverne-for-karate-judo-taekwondo-og-andre-kampsport/

For the next version, I'm thinking about including the glove colors of savate. But I'm a bit unsure about what is the right colors.

In the Wikipedia article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Savate), it is written that a savateur can choose three roads:

  • Technical road: blue glove, green glove, red glove, white glove, yellow glove, silver glove I, silver glove II and silver glove III (violet glove for those less than 17 years of age)
  • Competition road: bronze glove, silver glove I, silver glove II, silver glove III, silver glove IV and silver glove V
  • Teaching ranks: initiateur, aide-moniteur, moniteur and professeur

What does that mean?

And would it be ok to just use the technical road in our infographic?

Thanks,
Mads
